Why Reading Books is Important ?

I have always been a non-reader in my life before I turned 18 and passed my intermediate. In early days of my college life I just picked a book out of boredom and get involved into it to such extent that I even forgot how my 3 hours got passed and from then only I inculcate the habit of reading in me.

Books

In this post I will discuss some reasons why reading is important that I personally connect with.

1. EXPOSURE TO NEW THINGS

Reading helps to find the new things by picking up different books of different genres, countries, culture that you are not familiar with, it helps to know about new information in textual form in more descriptive manner.

2. ENHANCE IMAGINATION

Reading a book is like watching a movie in which you can imagine your own character and many different aspects related to book as per your perception and it ultimately enhance your imagination skills.

3.  IMPROVES VOCABULARY

With every different book there comes lots of different words that you might heard for the first time. Books help you to know the new words but one should be curious to know the meaning of those words then only it will be added to your vocabulary and will be helpful in your daily conversation.

4. HELPS IN DECISION MAKING

While Reading fiction we came to know many different characters in the book and came across through different situation, different problems they are facing in their life and tell us about how the character tackle that hard situation . So, books help in our life and teaches us how to deal with problems with many different perceptions.

5. READING AS FORM OF MEDITATION

Reading is the activity of loosing yourself in the new world without any stress, problem without thinking about the things around you and you get to know the different new places that stays with you for long like here I am quoting example of world of Harry Potter & Lord of the Rings . Books offer real escape if you are enjoying it to the fullest, and that’s why reading is considered as a kind of meditation.

6. UPGRADES KNOWLEDGE

Everything you read fills your head with new information and you never know when would that piece of information be useful to you in which situation of your life. Books are the true source of knowledge. Health and wealth may get degraded with time but knowledge is the only thing that keeps on enriching with time and experience.
